The SC State Housing Finance and Development Authority (SC State Housing) announces that funds are still available in the Palmetto Heroes First-time Home buyer Program. The Palmetto Heroes Program is a program designed to help South Carolina law enforcement officers, teachers, firefighters, nurses, veterans and EMS personnel who want to become homeowners. Eligible Palmetto Heroes home buyers receive a reduced mortgage interest rate (4.00%) and $5,000 down payment assistance. Loans are available on a first come, first serve basis, and borrowers must have an accepted sales contract on a home prior to reserving funds.
